Biography

Marie Catherine was born in 1910 in Little Chute, Outagamie, Wisconsin.^[1] She was the daughter of Adrianus van der Burgt and Ardina Verstegen.

On January 20 1920, John van Burgt, age 49, was a living in a house on Main Street in Little Chute, which they owned free of mortgage, with his wife Ardina, age 44, and six of their seven children, Delia, age 18, Gertrude, age 17, Martin, age 15, Joseph, age 13, John, age 10, and Marie, age 9. John was working as a fireman in Combined Locks, Outagamie, Wisconsin.^[2]

On April 8 1930, Marie Vanden Burgt, age 19, was a housekeeper in a private home on Jefferson Street in Little Chute.^[3]

Marie was 20 years old when she married Cornelius Clarence Driessen (1908-1974), 21 years old, on May 23 1933 in Little Chute, Outagamie, Wisconsin.^[4] They had five children, Agnes, Thomas, Mary, Kathleen and Dennis.

On April 20 1950, Clarence Driessen, age 41, a foreman of pipe fitters at a paper mill, Marie, age 39, Agnes, age 18, a saleswoman at a 5&10 cent store, Thomas, age 16, Mary, age 12, Kathleen, age 7 and Dennis, age 2, were living in a house at 522 West McKinley Avenue in Little Chute.^[5]

Clarence passed away in 1974 in Appleton, Outagamie, Wisconsin, at age 65 and was buried in Saint John Nepomucene Cemetery in Little Chute.^[6][7][8][9]

Marie passed away four years later in 1978 in Little Chute at age 68 and was buried in Saint John Nepomucene Cemetery there.^[10][11][12]
